Personal Safety Practices
The health and well-being of our students, employers, staff, faculty, and the university community continues to be our top priority. Please review The Ohio State University’s complete guidelines related to Personal Safety Practices.
August 2: Effective immediately, students, faculty, staff and visitors to all Ohio State campuses and medical facilities are required to wear masks indoors, regardless of their vaccination status. Masks continue to be required outdoors for unvaccinated individuals when they cannot maintain physical distancing. Vaccinated people are not required to mask outdoors.
Fully vaccinated individuals are also no longer required to physically distance.
Due to the size of some ECS staff offices and interview rooms, physical distancing may be practiced in some settings.
Hand Hygiene and Shaking Hands
Hands should be washed frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after touching common surfaces.
If soap and water are not available, 70% alcohol-based hand sanitizer should be used. The university has made hand sanitizer widely available across Ohio State’s campuses.
ECS is asking that employers, students, and visitors to the ECS suite refrain from shaking hands.
Fever or chills
Respiratory symptoms, such as dry cough or shortness of breath
Body or muscle aches
Loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. Keep in mind, many people with COVID-19 have mild symptoms and are able to recover at home.
If you are experiencing symptoms, ECS respectfully requests that you reschedule your appointment, meeting, interview, etc.
