Registration filling quickly for the Engineering Career Success Conference!

There are only three weeks left to register for the First Annual Engineering Career Success Conference on Saturday, August 24th.  I know that the weekends are so valuable to busy engineering students, however, I can't stress enough how helpful this event is going to be for those of you seeking career employment in the upcoming school year!

Engineering Activities Fair

Piggybacking on my previous post, The College of Engineering’s Annual Activities Fair will take place on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 10:00-3:00 on the plaza between Hitchcock and Knowlton (in case of bad weather the fair will be held in the lobby of Hitchcock). This is a great opportunity to get learn more about engineering project teams, engineering honoraries, and engineering student organizations.

Career Fair Prep

There’s only one week left before Engineering EXPO…it’s go time! A lot of students have been asking me, “How do I best prepare for the career fair?” Well, there are some things you could be doing to put your best foot forward…


  1. Make sure your resume is up-to-date, error free, and formatted properly. Check out guidelines for formatting in the Document Library section of your CareerEngine homepage.

  2. Spend some time on the EXPO web site and see who is coming for your major. Decide which companies you are most interested in. Familiarize yourself with the company’s profile and get acquainted their web sites.

  3. Apply to companies of interest in advance! Go to your job search account and apply if there are postings…if there aren’t, go to the company’s site and view the “careers” section to apply for openings.
