Graduating This Year? Check Out This One-Stop Shop Event!

The checklist is endless when you are searching for a full-time position during your last year. Not only do you have to contend with the time it takes to complete your assignments, but you have to manage to update your professional documents and presence, network with employers, and figure out how to nail the interview. The Engineering Career Success Conference (ECSC) on Friday, September 21st (11:30am-5:30pm) will lay the foundation for a successful job search by helping you complete that checklist!

Polish your professionalism.

An employer panel will offer insider advice from hiring managers and engineers in a variety of industries. You’ll also choose from a selection of career workshops to enhance professional skills. A few of the workshop topics include: salary negotiation, interviews, LinkedIn, networking, and managing your finances. View full event agenda HERE.

Interact and improve.

During the ECSC Interactive Lounge, you will have the chance to ask employers 1-on-1 questions about your resume, LinkedIn profile, and general job search tips. Having a recruiter or professional engineer review your materials is invaluable when searching for that first, full-time position. Professional headshots for LinkedIn are also included in the lounge activities, so come dressed to impress!

Refine networking skills.

The conference takes place less than one week before the Engineering Expo. If you’re nervous about speaking with companies this is your chance to practice conversing with participating employers like ArcelorMittal, Lincoln Electric, Marathon Petroleum Corp., Microsoft, Niagara Bottling, and Worldpay. Even if you are a seasoned professional when it comes to networking, you’ll set yourself apart from the competition before the largest career fair on campus!

And let’s not forget about the professional padfolio, prize raffles, and included lunch. We hope you’ll join us to kick off your full-time job search in the best way just before the Engineering Expo. For more information and registration, visit the ECSC website HERE.
