Special H-1B Visa event next week!
by Kaitlin Schafer | April 9, 2013
Are you an international student looking for full-time positions in the US over the next 1-2 years? When seeking employment in the US, it’s important to learn about the immigration laws and regulations that affect your employment eligibility. By becoming knowledgeable of these regulations, you will be more prepared to discuss your options with a potential employer.
An experienced immigration lawyer from the law firm of McCandlish Holton will be facilitating an H-1B Visa Workshop for graduating international students. This event is hosted by Engineering Career Services, Arts & Sciences Career Services, Buckeye Careers and Fisher Career Management, with support from Buckeye Career Club. Attending this event will be the first step in designing an effective strategy for competing in the US job market after graduation.
Mr. Rhoads will focus on work visa options for international students after graduation, including Optional Practical Training (OPT) and primarily H-1B. He will offer practical advice on job search strategies and how to deal with the H-1B quota, as well as options other than H1B for those who qualify. He will also discuss permanent resident green card options. The rules for H-1B and green card change rapidly, and this workshop will provide the most up-to-date information available. There will be plenty of time for general questions and answers during and after the workshop.
To reserve your spot, log into your Career Engine account, go to the "Events" tab, and click the "RSVP" button next to H-1B Visa Workshop for International Students!
