Gear up for fall recruitment! Pt. II: Interview clothing on a budget
August 30, 2011
It’s that time of year again! On-campus interviewing season is just around the corner…which means you need to be thinking about your professional wardrobe. You’ve heard that a resume alone won’t get you the job, and that the impression that you make in the interview is a critical step in whether you will succeed in obtaining employment. Your physical appearance is a part of that initial impression.
Physical appearance in an interview is about conveying a non-verbal message to the interviewer. Presenting yourself in a polished, clean, well-kept manner demonstrates that you are ready to take your job search seriously, and that you have respect for yourself – and for the employer. To achieve this goal, you have to consider your hygiene, grooming, and attire. You don’t have to break the bank to look your best, either!
